How to Clean Your Clothes

Post Image

One, Two, you’re done…

We all want our clothes to look great, but what if you’re not sure how to get them clean? You’ve got questions: How should I wash my jeans? Should I put my dress shirt in the dryer? Is it okay to wash silk in warm water?

If you’re not sure how to clean your clothes, you’re not alone. It’s a confusing world out there when it comes to laundry care labels and instructions, but we’re going to break it down for you.

First things first: read the labels carefully! Different clothing types are labeled with different symbols and instructions for washing them. For example, cotton shirts should be washed in cold water, while silk shirts should be washed in warm water. Your job is to match up the symbol on your shirt with its corresponding label and follow its instructions carefully. Don’t just throw everything into one washing machine load! and Don’t just throw everything in the dryer afterwards! you will shrink your clothing!

Second thing: don’t wash dry clean only clothing in the washing machine with normal detergents! The dry cleaners have special detergent that will keep your dry clean only garments looking good for longer than just regular detergent would. Get some for yourself, You’ll also save yourself some money by not having your dry cleaner do any extra work on those items again!

Make sure that all of your laundry is completely dry before putting it away. This will prevent mold or mildew from forming on damp clothing and keep it from smelling bad later on. If you have delicate items like silk or wool, make sure they get hung up overnight so they don’t get crushed under heavier items like jeans or towels.

Read your washing machine instructions carefully.
